Abstract
This is a health and safety subset of a larger dataset. Crushed basalt application in an irrigated pasture at the Univ. of California Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center in Yuba County, California, designed to test enhanced weathering and compare various soil, aqueous, gas and plant sampling and analysis strategies. Basalt was obtained form the Sunrock quarry in Butner, North Carolina in order to standardize application across a larger, US-wide study. The study utilizes site slope and shallow soils characterized by wet-dry cycles, with lysimeters and trenches constructed at the bottom of the slope to collect irrigation and rainwater passing through the field site soils.
